Below, we highlight the most important milestones from our 5-year company history.
FOUNDING
2020
Founded in 2020 as a spin-off from Friedrich Schiller University Jena, Polytives GmbH laid the groundwork for investor acquisition and the launch of its operations. The development of expertise had already started back in 2014.
Building the Team & Starting Production Scale-Up
2021
2021 marked key progress: we onboarded our first team members and successfully closed our financing round. With the first product formulation defined, we initiated upscaling to deliver sample quantities to customers.
Expanding Sales & First Product Launch at K Fair
2022
In 2022, we further expanded our team to strengthen our expertise in plastics engineering. As part of our scaling efforts, we also launched our first product at one of the world’s leading plastics exhibitions—the K Fair.
Further Development, Industrialization & Award
2023
2023 was a milestone year: we scaled up to industrial production, took part in several key trade fairs – including our debut at Fakuma – and proudly closed the year by winning the prestigious Lothar Späth Award.
Recycling, Bio-Based Plastics & Strategic Partnerships
2024
2024 was marked by important milestones: we were recognized as one of the winning teams in the getstarted2gether competition and formed a strategic partnership with a key distribution partner. We also validated the positive effects of our technology on both recycling and bio-based plastics.
Relocation, Internationalization, 5-YEAR Anniversary
2025
2025 marks our 5th anniversary — and a year of continued international growth. With appearances at major trade fairs including PRSE Amsterdam, KPA, KUTENO, RePlast Eurasia, and the upcoming K 2025, we are further expanding our global presence.
